Brief Weather Discussion
Today starts out with some sun but clouds increase in the late morning/afternoon ahead of the next rain threat. A few sprinkles may be felt in northern areas this morning as some light showers move out of northern West Virginia into northern Maryland. Watch for some sprinkles/showers in the late evening but showers are more likely after 12am. Saturday looks to be cloudy, cool, and rather unpleasant as intermittent light showers and drizzle hang around into at least the early afternoon. Total rain amounts are near .10-.20" with more confidence on totals being on the lower end of this range ...
Brief Weather Discussion
A warm, windy and a bit of a wet Wednesday is in store today as a low pressure system out of the great lakes pushes east. The day starts out with sun mixed with high clouds while the afternoon has a threat for scattered showers with a thunderstorm possible mainly after 1pm until around 6-7pm tonight. The winds will also be gusty and strong and during any thunderstorms, even stronger gusts are likely. Thanks to this strong west-southwest wind, plenty of warm air from the south will pump into the area bringing temperatures well into the 70s. The next rain ...
Brief Weather Discussion
After a very windy day yesterday, today will be rather pleasant but cooler as a Canadian high pressure sits over the region. We have a very dry pattern in place making the shower threat previously discussed for Wednesday very weak and more like sprinkles/brief showers in the pm and possibly some sprinkles early Thursday am. Other than that, the rest of the week is dry with a second shower threat Saturday.
Brief Weather Discussion
After a vacation into above average highs for the past few weeks, we return to reality this week with much more seasonable conditions thanks to a cold front dropping out of Canada today. Besides cooler tempertatures, today will also be windy with gusts up to 30 mph possible. Tonight's low will be near the freezing mark which could pose a danger to vegetation that came up prematurely from the recent warmth. The next threat comes Wednesday afternoon when brief showers enter the area but they will be very light and minor. We are watching for a potential system this weekend ...
Brief Weather Discussion
Fog continues to be the morning trend this week. Although still thick in areas, the fog is not quite as widespread and will burn off quicker today than it has the past few mornings. Fog will dissipate this morning with skies becoming mostly sunny after 9am, and today will be a warm day with highs getting close to 80. A slow moving system that has brought flooding rains to the central plains over the past few days will approach overnight in a slightly weakened state. The daytime hours will be dry but clouds will increase late in the day and ...
Brief Weather Discussion
This morning will start out foggy and damp once again, but clouds will begin to break up to let partial sunshine through this afternoon. This morning's fog could produce some patchy mist through 12pm or so and a weak disturbance will bring a minimal threat for an isolated late day thunderstorm, but the day looks to remain primarily dry. Low clouds and fog will return late tonight, so expect a similar morning tomorrow. There will be more sun on Friday with warmer temperatures and only a few clouds mixing in, but an approaching system will bring cooler (but still above ...
Brief Weather Discussion
Today will be another day well above normal for March. It will also be a transition day from sunny warm weather to a wetter weather pattern at least for the next few days. This will be due to a disturbance that will sit over the region beginning tonight. This will bring lots of clouds and some day time showers/thunderstorms each day. These showers/thunderstorms will be on cycles as mornings could be sunny but the afternoons could be on the wet side and will last right through the upcoming weekend. The main thing to know is no day will be a ...
Brief Weather Discussion
Another day of near record warm temperatures as this pattern more typical of summer continues. Lots of sunshine will be around for today and going into most of tomorrow despite some afternoon clouds moving in as a disturbance begins to approach the area from the west. This disturbance will bring showers to the area for the day Friday and into the early part of Saturday before clearing out Saturday afternoon.
